Primary Metrics To Understand

Your RetailX report contains a wide variety of different metrics that help you get an in-depth understanding of your competitors pricing strategy.

The following metrics are some of the most important for making sense of your data:

"Site vs Most Competitive Price"

This metric looks at products, categories, sub-categories and brands on all tracked sites, (the competitors' sites and your own site), and compares them against the competitor(s) with the most competitive price for that product in order to calculate the percentage. The lower the percentage (%) the more competitive that particular site is, compared to the rest of the sites.

This metric will be found in multiple locations within the report, wherever competitors sites are compared with each other. (Comparing your site to your competitors' sites uses a different metric.)

Where this metric is used in the reports, the percentage will be highlighted in red when exceeding 10% in order to identify the most expensive competitors for any given product.

When all the sites have the same percentage for a given product, or when multiple sites use the same price, all percentages will be 0.

For categories, sub categories and brands, the percentage represents an average across the products & sites for each category etc.

"Your Price vs Competitors Most Competitive"

This metric compares products, categories, sub-categories and brands on your site to the competitors which have the most competitive price. If your percentage is 0%, then your prices are the most competitive. (If multiple competitors show 0%, this means they share the most competitive price.)

Where your own site is above 0%, the percentage represents how much less competitive your price is for that product, and should consider reducing your price for it.

A negative percentage shows how much lower your price is, and depending on the difference, you could consider increasing your price for these products.

Where there is a greater than 10% difference (either higher or lower), percentages are marked in red and should be considered before other products.

For categories, sub categories and brands, the percentage represents an average across the products & sites for each category etc.

You VS Competitors

This will be found throughout the report, and represents segments where we are comparing your prices against the average price across all your competitors' sites on a per product basis.

If you are assessing categories, sub categories or brands, the same averages will apply based on the product within each category, sub-category or brand.

Date Ranges

The default Date Range, unless otherwise specified, is “All Time.” The date range filters allow you to select a date range, including Year, Last Month, This Month, specific dates etc.

Please Note:

The “Overview Report” reflects the most recent update in the “Your Site Now” and "Your Competitors Now” sections.

You can adjust the date ranges for most reports using the date filters at the top of most pages.
