- Uploading Your Bulk Product File
Instead of adding 1 product at a time, you can bulk upload your products from a spreadsheet.
Downloading Your Product Template
- Click on "Your Products" in the navigation.
- Click "Add new product."
- Click "Upload a CSV instead."
Once you have clicked on the CSV option, another dialogue will pop up. Download the template file by clicking on the link.
Please Note: Do not proceed to the next step until you have populated the CSV file with your product data.
Populating Your Bulk Upload Template
Once you have downloaded the file, open it to see the required formatting, and add your products to the sheet as shown below.
You will need to complete all the fields.
Product Name - Your product name.
SKU - Your unique product code.
Brand - Product brand. (If you don't have a brand name, use your company name.)
Category - Your top level category, taken from your site.
Sub-Category - The next level of navigation. If unavailable, duplicate “Category” instead.
Status - When bulk uploading we recommend setting the status to “Pause” and only marking this as “Active” once you have added your competitors.
Product page - this is the URL of the product page on your website.
Saving the File
The spreadsheet needs to be saved as a CSV (comma delimited) file. All spreadsheet software, (such as Excel, or Google Sheets) will provide this as an option when saving the files.
Please Note: Do NOT save the file as "CSV UTF-8 (comma delimited)." Select only "CSV (comma delimited)" from the "Save As..." dialogue.
Uploading Your Bulk Product File
Now that you have populated and saved your spreadsheet, select “Next” on the pop-up, then in the following dialogue box, click "Browse..." to select the file on your computer, click "Open" in the file selection dialogue once you have selected the file, and then click "Next" again.
Once the file has been uploaded, you will be taken to a screen showing how your data has been detected by the system.
You can use this screen to confirm that everything has been picked up, (1) as well as to change any of the information about the products you've uploaded (2).
You can manually set the status of a product here (3) and specify the URL of the product on your own site (4).
You can then save the upload to the database using the commands at the bottom of the page (5), delete any products you don't want to include, or cancel the process entirely.
